UPDATE (3:05 p.m.): Car thefts have also been reported in the Bethesda Crescent area. Residents reported loose change stolen from their vehicles overnight Saturday.

Chevy Chase residents in four locations reported their unlocked cars were entered overnight and items were stolen, according to a crime alert from the Town of Chevy Chase.

Residents in the 7000 block of Maple Avenue, the 7500 block of Maple Avenue, the 4100 block of Leland Street and the 4200 block of Rosemary Street reported the incidents to Montgomery County Police.

Sunglasses and a GPS system were reported stolen in one incident and a book bag was stolen in another, according to the alert.

The reports are similar to a string of thefts from unlocked cars that occurred in Chevy Chase a few weeks ago.
